Broken masts all over the place but there were three teams lucky enough to call Capt. Kirk at Key Sailing in Pensacola Beach, FL.
Key Sailing was able to supply three brand new Nacra 17 masts and arrange to get them overnight 700 miles to the Miami venue. The Key Sailing general manager, Charlie Trinque drove through the night to meet the Red Gear Racing team at Gainesville Florida to take it the rest of the way to Miami.
At least two of the teams have reported today they were able to make the first race on Tuesday, the very next day after breaking a mast on Monday. For Olympic hopefuls at the Miami OCR, missing even one day of competition could be a major setback to their campaign.
Good Luck to all the competitors and remember that Key Sailing is always here to help.
